We currently have an opening for an Electrical or Instrumentation Designer in our Power & Automation Group in our Edmonton office.
The successful candidate will work with engineers and other technologists to provide design, drafting and construction inspection services with an electrical focus and for a variety of public and private sector clients. The job will provide you with autonomy as you will be required to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Performing electrical design calculations and analyze electrical systems.
• Applying electrical engineering principles and techniques to provide power, controls and automation engineering and design services for a wide variety of industries
and clients.
• Developing and review single line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, control panel layouts, conduit routing, heat tracing, motor power and control schematics, and
field wiring.
• Developing plans and details for hazardous area classification, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Developing specifications for electrical equipment such as electrical switchgear, motor control centres, and electrical back-up systems.
• Applying industry codes, standards, and safe guards such as the CEC, IEC, NFPA and client company standards to designs at hand.
• Providing support for inspection of electrical and control systems.
• Cross-discipline coordination to ensure that the multi-discipline design intent is met.
• Supporting the project team in development of design, documentation, plans and reports for relevant project design elements.
• Working closely with the Electrical Engineer and engineering group in recommending the best use of project tools to achieve project objectives, troubleshoot and
resolve issues with the project tools.
